World Cup Football 2010 in South Africa

The Cup, occasionally called the Cup, but usually referred to simply as the Cup, is an international association (also known as soccer) competition contested by the men’s national teams of the members of F?d?ration Internationale de Association (), the sport’s global governing body. The championship has been awarded every four years since the first tournament in 1930, except in 1942 and 1946, due to War II.

Preparation for Cup 2010

The Dutch construction company BAM and a African industry colleague will be building a Johannesburg city stadium in Johannesburg. It will be the most important venue during the Cup Soccer 2010 being held in . The construction of Soccer City, as the project is being referred to, has already started and is to be completed in 2009. The stadium will seat 94,700 spectators. Constructing the complex is expected to cost 160 million euros. BAM also want to focus efforts on building a new stadium in the African city of Port Elizabeth.

Format of Cup Soccer 2010
The tournament consists of two parts, the qualification phase and the final phase (officially called the Cup Finals). The qualification phase, which currently take place over the three years preceding the Finals, is used to determine which teams qualify for the Finals. The current format of the Finals involves 32 teams competing for the title, at venues within the host nation (or nations) over a period of about a month. The Cup Finals is the most widely-viewed sporting event in the , with an estimated 715.1 million people watching the 2006 tournament final.

Cup Soccer Qualifier 2010
As the host nation, qualifies automatically for the tournament. However, is the first host since 1934 to participate in Cup qualifiers. This is because the CAF qualifiers also serve as the qualifying tournament for the 2010 African Cup of Nations, for which had to qualify separately. Like the previous tournament, the defending champions Italy do not qualify automatically.

The preliminary draw for the 2010 Cup was held in Durban, , on 25 November 2007.

The Final draw for the 2010 FIFA World Cup will be staged in Cape Town, , in December 2009 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
